Mesothelioma Victim Dies & Wins Lawsuit

Dianne Wilmore, 49, finally won her lawsuit, but died on 15th October 2009.

Dianne was exposed to asbestos at her school, Huyton's Bowring located at Merseyside in the 1970's. Having been diagnosed in 2007, she has been battling mesothelioma cancer for 2 years whilst having sued the council simultaneously.

The court went to Dianne's favour and finally awarded her the final win the night before she died. The proposed asbestos exposure was from the ceiling tiles located in the toilets of the school.

Usually mesothelioma victims are only given a few months to live as the disease is at such an advanced stage upon diagnosis that Dianne was a rare case having survived so long.
