5. (AIB) Asbestos Insulating
Board
Used in many areas such as; fire proofing material,
partrition walls, lift shafts, ceiling tiles and window panels.
Dangers:
This, similar to the spray, releases a huge amount of
fibres with the smallest of disturbances, thus a licensed contractor (HSE) will usually deal with this kind
of work.

6. Insulation &
Lagging
Typically found in heating arrangements including boilers
and more specifically the pipe work.
Dangers:
This form of asbestos is very dangerous due to the high
release of fibres into the surrounding area causing you to breath it in. This is another form of asbestos
that you should stay clear from unless you are a licensed contractor (HSE).

7. Loose fill asbestos
Will generally be discovered in industrial areas between
walls, lofts and boards of floors. Also commonly found within the household.
Dangers:
Without a doubt the most hazardous in contrast to all other
forms of asbestos as consists entirely of pure asbestos, thus when disturbed, releases 100%
asbestos at high concentrations into the air. Again, DON'T work with this material at any time unless
you are a licensed contractor (HSE).

You risk
whenever:
- Your not used to the site
your employed at.
- The property you
are based at was constructed pre year 2000.
- Materials that contain
asbestos where not notified, discovered or passed on to necessary personnel before work
started.
- You are not equipped
with the proper knowledge to completely understand what you are dealing
with.
- You are aware of how to
comply properly with asbestos but choose not to. Typically to save time or because none of your other
co-workers are doing so.
BEWARE OF THE FOLLOWING:
-
Asbestos fibres are
microscopic and can't be seen in the atmosphere.
-
The detrimental aspects
of asbestos takes decades to show their colours.
-
Smoking greatly enhances
the detrimental effects.
-
Danger is always there,
as even though asbestos may currently be undisturbed, accidents happens and release will
occur.
